I am delighted to announce that the Most Worshipful The Grand Master has been pleased to appoint as my successor as Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Very Worshipful Bro Michael John Wilks PGSwdB, Deputy ProvGM with effect from 25 June 2010, my retirement date being 24 June 2010.

This year sees the Masonic Samaritan Fund (MSF) launch a new funding programme.

Provincial Grand Almoners are now able to approve funding for initial consultations and the provision of certain low cost medical aids and equipment from MSF funds.

Dear Brethren of the Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight

I have advised the Pro Grand Master that I will retire as Provincial Grand Master at the end of June 2010 having served for seven years.

I have reached my decision after long consideration and planning, seeking to ensure that there will be a smooth transition to my successor when he has been appointed by the Most Worshipful Grand Master.

In response to requests from members of the Craft and as the extent of the devastation caused by the earthquake in Haiti has become clearer, the Council of The Freemasons’ Grand Charity has opened a dedicated Relief Chest.  This centrally administered service is for those who would like their donation for victims of the earthquake to be part of a co-ordinated Masonic response.
